This assignment focuses on inpatient consultative gastroenterology care and endoscopic procedures in a collaborative Level III Trauma Center utilizing EPIC EMR.

Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Practice Setting:
Patient Population:
- Adult patients
- Assigned and unassigned patients
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and manage gastroenterology consults
- Follow hospitalized patients throughout their admission
- Provide treatment recommendations
- Perform endoscopic procedures as clinically indicated
- Coordinate care with consulting physicians
- Provide thorough patient handoffs at the completion of coverage
- Complete documentation in EPIC
Procedures:
- Upper and lower endoscopy
- ERCP not performed
- EUS not performed

Requirements
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology required
- Fellowship training required
- Active Mississippi Medical License required
- IMLC will not accommodate the licensing timeline for this assignment
- ACLS required
- BLS required
