Physician Assistant Job Requirements
- Active Physician Assistant certification or eligibility through NCCPA
- Arizona PA license required or ability to obtain Arizona licensure
- DEA registration required
- ACLS and BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 3 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience with EVH proficiency
- Recent experience in cardiothoracic surgery required
- Strong knowledge of adult and geriatric surgical patient care
- Comfort working in a fast-paced inpatient surgical environment
Responsibilities
- Provide surgical support in a cardiothoracic surgery service line
- Manage 10-15 CVICU and step-down patients per day, along with 1-2 surgeries
- Assist with procedures such as temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
- Support the surgeon and care team with perioperative and postoperative patient management
- Participate in day coverage and beeper call as scheduled
- Document care and coordinate workflow in Cerner
- Deliver efficient, patient-centered care in a collaborative hospital setting
