Clinical Responsibilities:
The selected physician will provide comprehensive inpatient gastroenterology services, including:
- Inpatient consultations and daily rounding
- Hospital service coverage
- Advanced endoscopic procedures
- Management of GI emergencies
- 24-hour call coverage
- Care of medically complex inpatient gastroenterology cases
Procedures Performed:
Experience with the following procedures is required:
- EGD and upper GI endoscopy with biopsy
- Foreign body removal
- Endoscopic hemostasis and variceal therapy
- ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic)
- PEG tube placement
- Esophageal dilation and manometry
- Small bowel biopsy
- Flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- Liver biopsy
- Management of Sengstaken-Blakemore tubes
Support & Practice Environment:
- Dedicated nursing support
- Two Advanced Practice Providers
- Collaborative inpatient care team
- Well-supported hospital environment utilizing Epic EMR
Qualifications:
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship
- Advanced GI/Advanced Endoscopy experience required
- Current ACLS certification
- Eligible for Minnesota medical licensure
- Credentialing timeframe: approximately days
