Surgery - General Physician Assistant

Schedule:

• Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:00 PM

• On-call coverage required (30-minute response via beeper)

Floor Management

• Conduct daily rounds, write progress notes, and place orders

• Communicate with attendings and nursing staff regarding plans of care

• Manage discharges with appropriate instructions and summaries

• Perform bedside procedures (e.g., dressing changes, drain/NGT removal)

Consults & ER Admissions

• Evaluate consults in the ER or on other primary services

• Conduct comprehensive physical exams and communicate with on-call attending

• Document evaluations and initiate appropriate orders

Operative Support

• Serve as first assist in general surgery procedures (open, laparoscopic, robotic)

• Assist with pre-op and post-op care

Additional Details:

• Will Not Work Solo team-based support environment

• EMR: Epic

• On-Call: Yes (30-minute response time; beeper)
